Wood turns houses into homes

Wood brings warmth and natural beauty to a variety of interior and exterior  projects, ranging from decks, gazebos and pergolas to walls, cabinets and ceilings. And, research has shown that designing with natural elements like wood can lower stress levels, creating a healthier home.

Wood is an easy to use, readily available and affordable building material that offers financial payback in many areas of both exterior and interior remodeling, often beating what can be achieved with competitive products.

Another reason I love working with wood has to be the availability of the product. If I need lumber for a new deck or a porch, I know that I will be able to get it from the local lumberyard usually by the next day. This takes a lot of stress out of planning a new project. It’s accessible.

– Joel Harper, Licensed Contractor

Building with wood is fast and cost effective, and it can be undertaken year-round. Builders, remodelers and do-it-yourselfers prefer to build with wood because of its easy workability, value, reliable performance and environmental advantages.

Wood, by its nature, offers energy efficiency advantages compared to other structural materials like steel. Life cycle assessment studies show that wood products are responsible for lower air and water pollution, and have a lighter carbon footprint than other commonly used building materials.
